This Suspense is Killer…

2010 February 19

I keep asking myself will Enesco come through and deliver a spectacular herd?  Will the quality be what we all expect?  And what about those numbers, those all important numbers…who will get the good numbers?

Which pony will be the front runner?  Vickie’s “War Cry”  is certainly the early favorite but will Lynn’s “…Spirit” launch a sneak attack and steal the limelight?  Oh wait, but what about Lori’s “Best of Show”?

And does the controversy continue?  Yes, yes it does.  Why does the Trail insist on using employees for designs when so many talented artists are out here just waiting for their chance to shine with a pony of their own?  It’s disheartening that this inaugural Enesco herd has not one or even two,  but three TOPP figurines.  What’s up with that?

Ah well, whatever happens I think we can all agree that this has been a long, strange ride getting to this herd.

Most of you know by now that another 12 ponies will be retired March 1, 2010.  The next retirement would traditionally be on July 1, 2010 however because of the “bulk” retirement that has taken place over the last three months that will not happen.

After March 1, 2010 another retirement will not take place until January 1, 2011.

Bummer.  I think we can all agree that the ponies need to retire in a more timely fashion in order to keep them collectible.

Thanks, Chris for ferretting out this info!
